This session is designed for teachers who are navigating the implementation of the revised Texas English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) and seeking practical ways to align language development with high-quality instruction and expectations within the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS). By the end of this session, teachers will be able to: Identify key revisions within the Texas ELPS and their impact on classroom instruction. Analyze connections between ELPS implementation and high-quality instructional practices aligned to T-TESS. Apply language supports and scaffolds that promote language acquisition and academic success for emergent bilingual students. Design instructional opportunities that intentionally integrate language development across content areas.
