Analyze lesson components, anticipate student thinking and misconceptions, and leverage curriculum resources to design intentional instructional experiences that build conceptual understanding and support all learners in accessing grade-level mathematics.
Examine instructional routines, facilitation moves, and opportunities for purposeful discourse that support efficient implementation of grade-level content without sacrificing rigor, responsiveness, or meaningful student participation.
Learn to integrate Zearn and Math Catalyst into daily mathematics instruction to differentiate learning, provide meaningful independent practice, monitor student progress, and deliver targeted intervention and enrichment that deepen mathematical understanding and accelerate student growth.
Course Description: Advanced mathematics requires intentional planning to ensure students accelerate without creating gaps in understanding. This session focuses on strengthening the pathway from middle school mathematics to Algebra I. Teachers will explore vertical alignment and instructional moves needed to support advanced learners.

Understand accelerated TEKS progression
Identify prerequisite skills needed for Algebra I
Support students who skipped mathematical content
