The purpose of this session is to build coherence across PLC teams by developing a consistent understanding of what strong Tier 1 math instruction looks like in practice. Coaches will leave with tools and strategies to support teachers in delivering rigorous, student-centered instruction that promotes conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and mathematical discourse. By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Define and articulate the components of effective Tier 1 math instruction
Establish shared norms and expectations for PLC collaboration focused on student learning
Identify instructional strengths and gaps using student work and classroom evidence
Support teachers in refining instructional practices through coaching and feedback cycles
Facilitate PLC conversations that center on student thinking and mathematical discourse
