In this interactive session, general and special education teachers will explore how effective collaboration and communication contribute to meaningful Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee meetings. Strong partnerships among educators lead to more informed decisions and improved outcomes for students with disabilities.
Participants will examine communication strategies, review common ARD challenges, and engage in collaborative activities designed to strengthen team participation throughout the ARD process. By the end of this session, teachers will be able to:
Identify the roles and responsibilities of ARD committee members.
Apply effective communication strategies to support collaborative decision-making.
Analyze student data to contribute meaningful input during ARD meetings.
Develop approaches for fostering positive relationships with families and team members.
Evaluate ARD practices that promote student-centered planning and compliance.
